My tinnitus has been constant now for eight years. Had the MRI scan etc etc. and nothing came to light. I'm not convinced it's brought on by loud noises - I can remember the moment it started and there was no apparent reason. Sometimes it's louder than others and I can never find any particular reason. I've learned to live with it. I think it could almost drive you mad if you let it get to you. Despite it being so loud it doesn't appear to affect my hearing of other things - I can still hear really quiet sounds & noises. However, I'd love even just a few moments of absolute silence!
