Greetings all, In my never ending attempts to hustle up more work I have put together a new demo package (what is this now... 10? 20?) I include a descriptive brochure with pictures, past appearances, recordings ( what they are and where they are available)contact info... the usual. Now typically I would add in sound samples on an audio CD, BUT - Part of what I do involves theatrical elements.. costuming, storytelling, historical instruments. So I thought let me try to send a visual presentation as well. I have a clip from a small show at a museum and I managed to convert it to an .avi. It plays on DivX players, and apparently no others. I have put it on what I label as a DATA DISK, and explain it is not an audio CD, but has the video file as well. I even include the application and launcer on the disk, and a link to the DivX website if anyone is nervous about the program. I clearly say in the brochure it is a CD-ROM. Am I piling too much on a potential booker/venue? I think the video gives a better presentation than just audio, but not if it is complicating things so much that a potential client thinks it is too big of a pain in the arse. Any opinions? Anyone ever tried something like this? Thanks in advance. Robert Mouland www.wireharp.com
