Not sure how well-known these instruments are or whether anyone eithr has or has played one. Smooth as silk, an action that is VERY crisp and light and a sound to melt the heart - very mellow and full. Think really good quality Maton but at a comparatively less expensive outlay and you have the idea. All-Australian timbers including a choice of Bunya Pine faceboard - spectacular timber. Unsurprisingly; all of the senior lutanists who build these instruments used to work for Maton and the owner was a senior craftsman there for many years before going out on his own. A mate of mine (Sammy Horner - a Stotland-based Irish musician) has bought one on a part-sponsorship arrangement and I was with him when he picked it up and brought it home. Normally I won't touch another person's guitar but Sam insisted (and even trusted me enough with it to go and get a cup of coffee while I was 'fiddling about'). It was heaven. Have long-coveted a Maton and was arranging to buy one locally but hav changed my tune (pardon the pun) and will go for a Clarke instead. Curious to know if anyone else has experienced a Cole Clark?
