Date: Saturday, March 28, 2009 Location: New York City venue to be determined. Tentative Schedule 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM: The Urban Folk Music Community: an Overview. Who it was, including their institutions, social backgrounds, personal histories, musical roots, politics, lifestyles, connection to the larger culture and influence. Lunch break 12:30 - 1:30 PM 1:30 - 2:55 PM: Women of the Folk Community. Who they were, their role within the urban folk community, their lives, their musical and non-musical contributions, and their role in the revival of feminism. 3:00 - 4:25 PM: Families of the Folk Musicians. Spouses, siblings, children, and other relatives discuss what it was like. 4:30 - 6:00 PM: We Remember. First hand accounts, memorials, anecdotes, songs, etc. Dinner break 6:00 - 7:30 PM. 7:30 - 10:00 PM: Evening concert.
