It doesn't rhyme when sung as a closer in folk clubs because people drag it out so slowly they've forgotten what the previous lines ended with. I must agree that the "perfuming" line sounds horribly forced: it is pretty poor English and distorting English for the sake of rhyme is not good poetry or song. Now people will produce a long list of perfectly good traditional songs that do just that..........
