whoops (or maybe a blank tombstone would not be such a bad idea) anyway-- Fields' tombstone has name and dates only. Some literary (?) magazine wrote a number of celebrities in about 1930 asking what they wanted. . . you know Fields' response, the other memorable one was Dorothy Parker who wanted "excuse my dust". As for myself, for some years now I have said it would read "Missed Final Jeopardy" |
