I watched it and his voice was very soothing, intelligent and nuanced with understanding. I was appreciative that he had the East Side Synagogue choir sing to him. Shalom. And even more impressed that in writing up a list of 'new' deadly sins, the Pope cited the necessity of seeing the hardheartedness towards those stricken with poverty as a sin. So overall, I am feeling positively about the guy. Really. But quite frankly, while they were vetting all the possible candidates to be the powerfullly influential leader of one of the most ubiquitous religions in the western world: wasn't it possible to find ONE who didn't start out as a Nazi?
