Has anyone in the UK listened to Michael Ball's Sunday Brunch on Radio TV. This takes the place Michael Parkinson's radio show and follows a similiar format: ie. music, guest review of the papers, Hilary Oliver's review of films, radio and TV and then in the second hour, an interview with a guest. Similiar, but with a difference. The difference is that Michael Ball is a professional DJ: talks over the beginning of records, talks without saying anything interesting, laughs while he talks: in other words, he is as irritating as hell and drives me bonkers. There is more. He allows members of the public to ring in and request a record. The record they choose is always sentimental pap and the "Chat" between the caller and Ball is asinine. To put it bluntly, Ball has taken a good format and ruined it totally. Well, not totally. The reviews, especially Hilary Oliver, are good; but it is him - he ruins it. Come back Parky. We need you.
