Derby Ram Gig - The Ram Co. - Sheff Uni - 6/5/08 (6) Gig - The Ram Co. - Sheff Uni - 6/5/08 04 May 08

Dear Mudcatters

Just a little note to tell you about our first gig with RAM on Tuesday 6th May.

The concert is at Firth Hall at Sheffield University and put on as part of the Music Department's Spring Series of Concerts.

The evening will commence with a selection of traditional and contemporary tunes and songs from Keith Kendrick and Sylvia Needham, Cross o'th Hands, and Bandanglo individually......

For the second half, all of the above come together with others to perform a selection of the material from the show "Waltzers and Wonders - The Wakes is in Town" - a song cycle that creates a musical journey around the fairground. It is a mixture of traditional tunes and newly written melodies and songs. There are Derbyshire references and the material is largely very English traditional in feel.

Tickets are £8 (£5 conc), doors open at 7pm and the concert starts at 7.30.
