The more trad music they use, the less they abuse Beethoven's Ninth.
I once heard " The Minstrel Boy " as the soundtrack of the suburban fulfillment of the American Dream. I guess the producers finally heard the words to the song because it vanished after a week or so on TV. I think it was a commercial for a mortgage company. In general, though, I approve of more use of traditional or folk music wherever it can fit.
