GUEST,kay Mother's Day Songs (55* d) RE: Mother's Day Songs 10 May 08

have been looking for an old lyric of mothers day song Dick Purtan of Detroit radio plays every year.....it begins..
Fathers, they're the most neglected ones..
Do everything that you can
You owe a lot to your old man...and the chorus...
You should always love your papa
treat him right and treat him proper
for without your papa you would be no where
If it wasnt for your father
would your mother be your mother?
You can thank your lucky stars your pop was there
And if he'd been a little stronger and held out a little longer
then me miight have stayed a single guy
and its safe to be assummin' that you wouldnt be a human
you would only be the gleam in mothers eye
so............
and remember what I say
If it wasn't for your father, would your mother be your mother?
so remember Dad on Mothers day....
have probably botched this immensley, but would love to get a link
to find this old favorite on line -
Thanks
