This is a radio program that I suspect is only broadcast on a 1000 watt station in the NYC area: Wfmu, 91.10Fm, Tuesday, 6-7pm. It used to be on the Pacifica network but was yanked off about 3 years ago. "The Secret Museum of the Air" broadcasts folk music from the 1890's (cylinders) to about 1940, concentrating on field recordings. Greece and the entire continent of Africa figures in about 40%. About 10% of the shows cover English language stuff. The heart of the show is a collector Pat Conte, who knows more about world folk music than anyone else in the universe. Yes, this station is on the Net 24-7. This is a wonderful world music (not "ugh" world beat) folk show. Does anyone else but me know about Pat Conte (and the spokesman Citizen (sic) Kafka (sic)? I'm telling you the truth: Pat Conte single handedly discovered Tuva throat singing recordings! -- Harold
