I understand he's heading towards Liskerret. Where's that? Lyskerret or Lyskerrys are early forms of Liskeard, used in the 13th of 14th century. The prefix lys suggests there may have been a court, hall or palace there in pre Norman times. (Helston used to be Henlyston, old court town) Such place names may give clues to the pre Norman administration of Cornwall. |
