Hello, everyone. Interesting discussion. Let me just say that I think that there will always be people who take their fun very seriously and work really hard at it. I have run across several examples of this type of " folkie " if I may use the term in England, but also in America, Canada, France and even Ireland (though they seem to be rare in the Emerald Isle). As far as the future of English folk music goes, I dare say it's in good hands. If you have a doubt, have a listen to (just for example) Maggie Holland's glorious song, " A Place Called England ".
