Not music based, but as a student I had a few meetings with Edward Albee to discuss his work. My Theatre lecturer, Steve, was writing a book about Off-Off-Broadway Theatre and asked if I had a contact for Mr Albee. Having arranged the meeting I left them to meet and discuss whatever. Later Steve came up to me, grinning. Apparently Mr Albee had commented, "That friend of yours, Trev... he's not as dumb as he makes out, is he?"
