I don't entirely agree with this post I'm afraid John, "In this case, it is unknown by anyone outside Microsoft, and quite posibbly by anyone inside Microsoft, what the "Live File System" is." Sorry, my mistake... I thought you were an experienced Windows user... Let me tell you my background... I have used Windows since 3.11 through to Vista and before that I had experience with a few OS's including MS-DOS... "Windows Live File System" is their attempt of writing to CDs (regardless of CD-R/RW or DVD-R/RW) which allows you to go and add files to the disk and then allows you to go back after whatever time frame to add more if you want to. It works very well but, it is not compatible with other devices unless they state they are 'Vista compatible'! Also, Vista is defaulted to burn in this format so you have to (when going to burn) click on more options and tell it you want a 'Mastered' file system which is the standard for most devices... As I have said, I have been burning mp3 CD's for around 6~7 years for my car stereo and other devices such as my DVD player. I am also a Computer Science student that is very well versed in the quirks of Office 6 right up to 2007 (which coincidently was designed with Vista in MS's funny mind hence Live File System being part of the package) I suggest that you click on the link that I had place in my previous post an research any issues you may have... I know I may have confused you by placing it in the centre (yes I'm from England) of your browser, so here it is as inline text and by itself on left alignment; Windows take on the burning issue Hope this helps.
