Most of us have heard at least one version of the ballad Two Magicians. A search of the Digitrad comes up with five versions of it, and dozens of threads which have referred to it. In it, one magician keeps changing into a different form to escape, and the second magician keeps changing into a different form to try to catch the first magician.

We also all know of musicians who have changed what type of music they play, from folk to punk to rock to jazz, in whatever order. They change styles for any of a number of different reasons. Their tastes change, or they think it will be easier to make a living in the new style, or, just possibly, because they want to get away from one of the members of their old band.

Do you see where my train of thought is going?

Is anyone inspired to write a song, or a verse for a song, about Two Musicians, who keep changing musical styles because of their relationship?
