Jigger Origins: Japanese folksong 'Sakura' (22) Lyr Add: SAKURA (Japanese children's song) 08 Jun 00

Hey Japan -
I think this is the song you're looking for (brings back some memories - I sang it in grammar school). I can't vouch for any translation, however.

Sakura, Sakura.
Yayoi no sora wa,
mi-watasu kagiri.
Kasumi ka kumo ka,
nioi-zo izuru.
Iza ya! Iza ya!
Mi ni yukan.

Sakura, Sakura.
Mire-domo akanu,
mi-yama no nagame.
Tomodachi-tsurete,
tamoto o soroe.
Iza ya! Iza ya!
Mi ni yukan.
