There are four million DNA samples on this country's database. The whole population and every UK visitor should be added to the national DNA database. This would reduce crime, clear up unsolved cases and make detection and prosecution easier. The only people who seem to disagree are those who must have something to hide ! The DNA database which is now 12 years old, grows by 30,000 samples a month taken from suspects or recovered from crime scenes. It also means that a great many people who are walking the streets and whose DNA would show them guilty of crimes, so they go free. The database had helped police solve as many as 20,000 crimes a year, remember that before you bang your drum. I have nothing to be afraid of, so I would support this idea which is supported by many senior judges in Britain.
