MikeofNorthumbria -- I agree. I think many folk festivals are definitely getting the idea. I don't think clubs etc should seek to be fashionable just inviting and not off putting. Richard Bridge -- you do not like Womad -- fine. Look at how Warwick Folk, Larmer Tree and Chelenham Music festivals present themselves and thei artists, and compare it to your local folk clubs or events.
