I know this was a thread about the chords or music of the hymn, but I just want to throw in my two cents worth about the lyrics. Most service songs seem to talk about how brave, tough, etc, our troops are. This song actually admitsand talks seriously about how we are sending troops into harms way, and they might not all come back. I think that makes it unique, and it's a great opening line for conversations about the wars we're currently in, etc. Smooth sailing, Marymac
