Claymore BS: President Soccer Mom Surges in Polls.... (164* d) RE: BS: President Soccer Mom Surges in Polls.... 08 Sep 08

I suspect the Hockey Mom comment (which was an ad lib when the teleprompter failed) will serve her well in Minnesota and Wisconsin (both Battleground states). And if they take a map of the US and locate the Appalachian mountain range, from Pennsylvannia to North Carolina, and draw a line about 100 miles out from the foothills, which would include the Ohio valley and the Piedmont of Virginia; that is where she could single-handedly win the race for McCain.

Incidently Bobert, it was good to see your words on the other thread. If you get the book about McCain, North, Webb and the other graduates of the Naval Academy during that period entitled "The Nightingales Song"; look up Don Moore in the index; Bob Timberg quoted me more than I knew.

Finally I don't know if anyone has mentioned the accident on the carrier Forrestal off the Vietnam coast in 67. The video is fairly famous as a 3.5 "Zuni" rocket from another plane accidently cooks off and hits McCains plane in the fuel tank at the other end of the carrier. Through the hellish flame and explosions, McCain can be seen going hand over hand along his flaming planes nose to swing down into a lessor part of the flames and be put out by another deck hand, who later died in a following explosion.

(Warning! Snide Comment Follows) Who knows, maybe Obama had the same experience during a back flash from a crack pipe...

I don't know about you, but the debate I'm definitely watching is the Veeps. I think maybe McCain is bringing a wild cat to a dog-fight... And the quickest way to stop a dog from chasing a cat is to let him catch one...
