It was an excellent festival this year. The quality of performers and performances was excellent. Highlights for me were... Chumbawamba Kerfuffle Coope, Boyes and Simpson Steve Turner The Duncan McFarlane Band (I'm not biased, honest) Ruth Notman The songs and songwriters night, particularly the powerful and captivating performances from Jospeh Porter) Tom Bliss (sorry I didn't catch your show Tom. A big thanks for taking me double bass home, I am indebted to you sir!) There were many other great performances too numerous to mention. except bands on stage Isn't that kinda what it's all about? That's what the ticket holders pay for I believe. re sessions. The Cross Pipes is firmly back on the festival circuit (this was well documented in the programme) and had some fantastic sessions both inside and in the beer garden. The Yeoman also had sessions running. The loss of the Red Lion was a bit of a blow as we lost not only a great acoustic venue but a great session pub. Let's hope the powers that be at Enterprise Inns (Property Developers) Ltd. have the sense to put a new landlord in there soon. The rescheduled acoustic concerts were a success with the Whitakers beer garden being a great venue. Of course, as always, we had the weather on our side. Can't wait for next year's festival. Big up to everyone involved. Gerry :-)
