As part of the Glasgow Merchant City Festival, Celtic Music Radio will be hosting a live music event on Saturday 27 September. It will take place in the Collins Gallery, Richmond St (about 2 mins walk from George Square) and the event is FREE!

The event starts at 2pm, and will continue until 6. We have a number of musicians taking part, ranging from local singer/songwriters through to a gaelic choral group. We also have a number of instrumentalists, in the traditional/celtic theme, and some jazz.

The performers include Ciaran Dorris (singer/songwriter), "Fionnar" (Gaelic youth vocal group), Bill Adair, a singer/songwriter and acoustic blues guitarist, and others from the folk/celtic/jazz worlds.

At the same time, the gallery is hosting the final day of the Keith Ingham "Urban Echoes" exhibition.

Glasgow-based photographer Keith Ingham presents a new body of fascinating images which explore variously: his perspective on the domestic, on Glasgow and the oriental; the actual and the abstract, to reveal a personal view of the urban experience.

The event is licensed; there will be a "real ale" bar, with a selection of beers from Glasgow's Kelburn Brewery. I'm told that the prices will be very reasonable!

The whole event will be broadcast live on Celtic Music Radio, on 1530kHz around the city, and on http://www.celticmusicradio.net/

So it's a mix of music, photography, chat and alcohol! Sounds like a good saturday afternoon to me....

All welcome.
