The band Heron, which alanabit asked about, did indeed feature Gerald 'GT' Moore and recorded two albums for the Dawn label which were released in the early 1970s - a self-titled debut and the double-LP Twice As Nice & Half the Price. A double-CD retrospective, Upon Reflection: The Dawn Anthology was issued a couple of years back. The band actually continued into this decade - see http://bit.ly/2XLye3 and singer Roy Apps's page on Myspace. Did Mike Heron's Reputation actually reduce its name to just Heron? I was booking bands at that time and I certainly don't recall this (and isn't it unlikely since the original Heron was still in existence?). I'm more than happy to be proved wrong.
