On 3rd Sep 2008, the following partial lyric was collected from an elderly lady in West Cornwall: Going up Connor with my little donkey, Load up sand, load up sand, load up sand, ----- Load up sand. The lines apparently refer to the 19th and early 20th century practice of taking sand from the Hayle Estuary and nearby dunes to Connor Downs, an agricultural area 2.5 miles north east, to spread on the land to improve soil quality. No tune was given. Please, does this ring any bells with any of you knowledgeable Catters? Oll an gwella Crowdercref
