I'm clearly a bit late with this thread - but surely The Concertina being the only English invented chromatic musical instrument - and I'm with Diane here - there is only one contender - and there are arguably more players now than there have ever been - it's popularity is definitely on the up. What more qualification are they looking for? Nothing to debate as far as I'm concerned....:-)
