I think Bronson at that time cost close on £50 - something like a fortnight's pay for an agricultural worker. The Dover edition of Child was sold in CSH around 1970 for £5 per volume. I know because as an impoverished student I decided that was far too much to pay, but it didn't matter because in a few years time I would be earning money and could buy it because it was absolutely certain it would still be available for ever ......
