The people being evicted in this case are renters who have been making their rent payments, but the landlord had not been paying the mortgage. The property was forclosed on but the tenents weren't informed. The mortgage holder didn't inform the tennents that the property was being forclosed. Seems to me the sheriff is actually taking to heart " protect and to serve", by not evicting unsuspecting tenents.
