Just back from a Richard Thompson concert. Some loved it; some hated it. I thought I had died and gone to hell. Jacqui got the giggles...and I helped. We left halfway through but the rest of the crowd - Micca, Tom and Deborah, Tami and Jason stayed and enjoyed it. It looked to me like Peter Souza doing Elvis. Shenandoah was painfully priceless. Not sure who I confused him with - not a folk singer. To my left was Jacqui yawning loudly; to my left Micca sound asleep. I left. I'd have gone home but I was everyone's ride.
BUT... the young fiddler who warmed up the crowd was very good. Bought her CD, Promised to send her a link to Mudcat and the Digitrad.
She introduced "The Maid On The Shore" as collected in Maine. In person, she said it was a version found in Maine. Bright, talented lady. I thoroughly enjoyed her short set.
Micca is off to brush his teeth and then to bed. He has been warned - Saturday I sleep until I wake up. No noise; no questions.
