Edmondson's love of folk music is not "leaping on the bandwagon" because of his daughter. He's been well-known as a folk-rock fan for ages. Over 20 years ago, he was directing videos for the Pogues and 10,000 Maniacs. In fact, Ella credits her dad with getting her interested in folk music, and giving her her first guitar. Seems Ade was the one who taught HER it's not all about sweaters, beards and pipes (though she DOES seem to like sweaters and cardigans well enough). Ade's current band the Bad Shepherds, by the way, features Maartin Allcock and Troy Donockley, which makes me suspect he's good on that mando. But I haven't heard them, so I can't say for sure.
