Ross Macfadyen's Saturday Sequence.

Ross will review next week's Celtic Music Radio Album of the Week. This week, The Album of the Week is Queen Anne's Revenge - Just One Umbrella. The Demo of the Week this week features the Flutatious. They came together as a band after a trip to the Isle of Skye and are described as 'one of the bands dragging folk into the 21st century...'.

Saturday at 6, Charles Dewhurst's "No Celtic Boundaries" features critically acclaimed singer/songwriter and proven radio/television presenter Brian Kennedy. A No Celtic Boundaries' Production, Isle of Lewis.


Sunday:

10am: The Sunday Supplement with Mark Sheridan with a look at the line-up for Celtic Connections 2009

2pm: Stewart Fenwick Country Show – This week John Hinshelwood from the Glasgow based, Gram Parson inspired, "City Sinners" is the studio guest.

5pm: Ciaran Dorris Sunday Session – Ciaran has as his guest this week Jane Donnelly who is a co-founder of the Loch Lomond Folk Club and a well known fiddler and singer in the Glasgow area folk circuit.

7pm: No Celtic Boundaries – with Charles Dewhurst featuring Phil Cunningham - the man who, in Scotland at least, made the accordion respectable again and also plays fine keyboard and whistle. A 'No Celtic Boundaries' Production, Isle of Lewis.


Tuesday and Thursday from 4-6, Mark Sheridan's music and arts magazine will no doubt focus on the Celtic Connections programme. We spoke to Donald Shaw just after the CC launch, and we're hoping to get him onto Mark's show sometime over the next week or so.

Tuesday evening at 7, Sandy Semeonoff presents acousic sounds from around the world, This week he includes music to celebrate the Greek holiday "Ochi Day".

At 8, Liz Clark will be focussing on, you've guesed it, Celtic Connections 2009!

Wednesday at 7: Hotchkiss Hotchpotch with Gordon Hotchkiss and a personal look back at Celtic Colours 2008, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Gordon has just returned with a stack of interviews, memories and music!
