I have a lyric dating from 1893 in Australia, attributed as a modification to "Johnny on the Chute". It could well be that "chute" should be "shoot" or similar. It could also refer to a laborer who handled a chute (like to fill a steam engine coal hopper", or a grain chute on a wheat silo, or similar. Any help with tracing down similar lyrics would assist me - thanks.
