Adventures on the Web:
One of the most interesting sites on the Web is www.jonimitchell.com click here. It was started by a man named Wally Breese, who was diagnosed two or three years ago with colon cancer, and decided to commit himself to creating a site for Joni Mitchell, since he had been a collector and fan of hers for many years. The site is filled with good information, ranging from interviews with Tom Rush to TAB's and listings of her open tunings, to her art work, to articles on the women who introduced her to the dulcimer, and so on.
It has had even more impact than that. The site had so much information on it that it materially assisted Joni and her long lost daughter finding out about each other, and being reunited. It eventually became the official Web site, and Mitchell became friends with Wally Breese. Breese died early this year, but the site carries on. Thus the Web, still in its infancy, already has this kind of history in it. Just a little homage from one Web site to another.
