1. Didn't attend. 2. Apolitical. Major concerns were my new baby sister taking the bulk of the attention in the household (I was an "only" till the summer before) and my Dad being home a lot more because of the big steelworkers strike at the time and the fact that I didn't like cassarole but they made me eat it. 3. Devoured all the alternative press: Cat in the Hat, Hop on Pop, Are You My Mother?, Green Eggs and Ham... it was like a whole new world opening up. Well, ANOTHER whole new world. Didn't understand it all, but I knew there was SOMETHING there. 4. The Beatles. Even had a plastic Beatles souvenir guitar. (Wish I had it now) Plus Lightfoot, Ian & Sylvia, P. P. & Mary, Kingston Trio and my Dad's favourite country music were always on the stereo (we got one of those early ones BEFORE we got a TV) %. The Hare Krishna Temple? Several of them around. Very busy places: lots of people moving about quickly with lots of goods, lots of noise, airplanes taking off and landing all the time. Must be something going on.
