GUEST,Bill Kennedy Live Irish Music in NE OH? (8) RE: Live Irish Music in NE OH? 25 Nov 08

The best chances in this week are already past, Pitch the Peat was at Mullarkeys on the 22nd. Mossy Moran, who is an Irish ballad singer will be at P J McIntyre's www.pjmcintyres.com on the 27th, Thanksgiving night. There is usually an Irish session at the Old Angle Tavern on Thursday nights, but don't no if it is on this Thanksgiving night or not, call them at 216-861-5643 to check on it. If you can stay in town a couple of more days, there is a big session on the firwst Monday of the month at Great Lakes Brewery rom 6PM till- AND this monday December first will be the LAST SESSION IN THIS LOCATION so it promises to be well attended and a big night of music. No cover, the beer is great, and good food. The Prodigals are at the Beachland Tavern on Wed., and thier singer Gregory Greene may sing and play some trad stuff from his new solo cd, but otherwise pretty celtic- rockish. I do a trad music radio program in Cleveland on Saturday mornings from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, on WRUW FM-91.1, BUT there was a fire in the buliding that supports our transmitter and we are only webcasting currently., Shows archived for one week, or listen live on line at www.wruw.org

Sorry there isn't more happening this week, but it's hit or miss in Cleveland. Check out the Harp for great food and craic, and occasional Irish Music (The Portersharks are worth catching) but they also book blues and rock and other stuff, not always, or often even, Irish music in most Irish bars. Try www.pitchthepeat.com and myspace.com/theportersharks to see if they have anything else going on this week, but I don;t think so.
