Interesting thread but I do not wish to be pedantic but regarding Bernards comments that Takemine were originaly Suzuki is debatable. Takemine were founded in 1962 and were in line to make Martin's Sigma range in 1968 before shacking up with Kaman. Takemine make guitars under other names and in 1968 luthier Mass Hirade joined them and their classical range carried his name. I know of no link with Suzuki but am happy to be proved wrong
