I am sorry to have to report the death of Tom Gilmour, one time stalwart of the London folk scene and resident at Capital Folk Club in the 1980s. He sang with Paul Draper and myself in Les Lapins and was a familiar figure singing in the York Tap at Sidmouth Folk Festival for many years.

Tom was only in his 60s but had recently been having breathing problems and coughing a lot and had been diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis. However he died from bronchial pneumonia, last Wednesday. Although he had been ill it was not expected. It's been something of a shock all round.

The funeral will be on Tuesday 16th December 11.00am; his wife Raff says at Finchley Crematorium (that may mean Golders Green) but she has to confirm the details and when I have them I will post them here as I know Tom had many friends on the folk scene even though he had been absent from it for a few years.
