Let me try that again. There was an incident supposedly at Bolton-On-Dearne I believe when the miners built a snowman which was an effigy of a policeman and Chief Inspector Nesbitt ordered them to knock it down. They refused the order, so he knocked it down himself by driving a police car at it - but it had been built around a concrete post. A song came out of this of which this is the only snatch I know: "The miners built a snowman and Nesbitt knocked it down" X 3 to the tune ff "Glory Hallelujah". Whether the story is true, and indeed the whether the song came out of the actual incident I have no way of knowing.
