Not quite sure what brought this to mind, but anyway... I'm looking for the lyrics to a song that was a 'hit' in the UK in the late 70's / early 80's. I think it was called 'Car 69' but that may have been the artist. The chorus was an answerphone message: "Hello, this is Joanie, I'm sorry but I'm not home But if you leave me your name and number, I promise soon as I get in I'll phone" The song was about a lover's tiff that ended in tragedy, because 'Joanie' drove home, crashed and died, due to the fact that she'd drunk too much.
