I once had the great privilege of interviewing Clinton Ford, one of the writers of this, backstage at a big country music festival in the late 1980s - he was there because he had a hit with Old Shep about three hundred years ago. He was an absolutely charming, witty and engaging interviewee, even though he was so nervous he went through a whole pack of my cigarettes, and then he won over a crowd of 8,000 over by walking onstage and saying - "before anyone asks... no, I'm not singing 'Fanlight Fanny'!" He retired to run a hotel in the Isle of Man, I think, but I hear it was unsuccessful... and I was sorry to see from Wikipedia that apparently the guy is now bedridden somewhere. He'll be 78 now. Great guy. - Cappuccino
