The answer is that there simply isn't enough money to be made in an average folk club to make that an adequate reason to do it. If it wasn't for the love of it, it simply wouldn't be worthwhile. I appreciate that is, more often than not, the case. I do think though, that it's better to aim for a profit and settle for breaking even than to aim to break even and end up with a loss.
