Garry Gillard, who I help occasionally with transcription - particularly in relation to my native north Yorkshire dialect - has alerted me to this thread. The disputed word in the last verse is definitely "chaff", but Mike Waterson uses the north and east Yorkshire pronunciation "kaff". Steve Willis s.willis@virgin.net
