Though we both ended up making English folk music the center of our lives, I only knew and admired his work from afar in the US. I knew him well when I was a teenager and we both played rugby for Bletchley RFC. if the energy and passion he displayed in that arena was transferred to folk music, the love and affection I hear voiced by friends on this forum is full understandable and the loss a bitter one. I send love, condolences and best wishes to Matt's family and friends. Tony Barrand
