(minor thread creep but relevant) I am reminded by reading these threads, about a memory from early childhood. I was around 6 or 7 at the time and was calling on a friend for our walk together to school. As we're walking and chit-chatting, he matter-of-factly says to me "Do you like Catholics?" (He being Protestant and me being neither) and my response was "I have nothing against them one way or another. Why do you ask?" And his response was "We're supposed to hate them, but I don't know why." My children do not see "color" or religious persuasion bashing. If prejudice isn't taught, it can't be passed on.
