Re: Captain Birdseye, the Greenwich Village LP was called The Old Songs, Martin Carthy, Maggie Goodall, Sue Harris, John Kirkpatrick, Martyn Wyndham-Read, Mick Doonan and Bob Thomas. It's not nursey rhymes but the sort of folk songs people of my generation = pretty old now, used to sing at junior school. There are 11 tracks: Early one morning; Cockles and Mussels; Lavenders Blue; Way down Rio; The Minstrel Boy; Oh dear, what can the matter be; Highland Laddie; The Ash Grove; Oh, no John; John Peel; The Skye Boat Song. There has just been another copy on eBay but no longer. Luckily I already had a copy. The same combination also did an LP of Christmas carols, called Yule Tracks.
