Well, The Devlins were/are an Irish band and MYV were formed in Dublin too, but later moved to London and MYV's only two albums came out in 1988 and 1991.

Some names that haven't been mentioned: Supergrass; Gene; The Flaming Stars; The Big Dish; The Blue Aeroplanes; Placebo (hated them!); Denim; The Auteurs; The Divine Comedy; The Boo Radleys; The Inspiral Carpets; Lush; Salad (hated them too); Saint Etienne; Sleeper (hated them more than all the others I've hated already); Cast; The Verve; Menswear; The Bluetones; Dodgy; Northern Uproar; Echobelly; Pulp; Ocean Colour Scene; etc. And, one that I loathed even more than all the other of my objects of hatred put together, Shed Seven.
