Thanks for the suggestions, but that ain't it. The Tunefinder does indeed reveal that the first tune of the Irish set you mention is "Haste to the Wedding", which, coincidentally is on another Hutchings album (Compleat Dancing Master).

The first tune on the Spiers & Boden set is (I believe) used for a Welsh Border Morris dance.
