Brian Peters will be performing at the Branford Folk Music Society Coffeehouse on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. Brian is a leading English squeezebox player, a virtuoso on the melodeon and Anglo concertina. He is also a talented guitarist and a singer of traditional songs, who also performs the work of leading contemporary songwriters and contributes some songs of his own. Brian is a fantastic interpreter and serious scholar of the Child Ballads. His most recent CD, "Songs of Trial and Triumph," consists entirely of fresh, innovative interpretations of Child Ballads - 14 of them. Instrumentally, Brian includes Northern English dance music in his repertoire, researching, playing and teaching rare tunes from centuries-old manuscripts as well as composing new tunes in traditional style. He also makes occasional forays into ragtime, blues and rock 'n' roll, again without departing from his traditional roots. There is a more complete description, along with some audio clips of Brian's work, on the Branford Folk Music Society website. Branford Folk Music Society Homepage Regards, John
