This past week I was on the seaport website and there was the line up of performers for June. It is like a wonderful gift for having survived this long cold New England winter to be the first day of spring with the evidence of a wonderful festival ahead. I was very encouraged to read of the fundraising success from many sources. It is proof that this event is too important to let die. Too important to those who love it but also too important to history. This music must endure as a tribute to hard working men and women who have harvested the sea since the beginning of time until today. I want to believe that our children and grandchildren can experience places like Mystic Seaport and its heritage of music. thats enough serious stuff I am looking forward to the party just as much!!
